The terrorist activities that have paralysed economic activities in Okene, Kogi State, has taken a different turn as two special advisers to the state Governor, Idris Wada, are now in police custody over last Tuesday’s killing of two soldiers in Okene.

The two politicians –Yahaya Karaku (former Chairman, Okene Local Government Council) and Abubakar Zubair Adagu (former chairman, Okehi Local Government Council) – are under arrest and interrogation by the police over the soldiers’ killing.
Gunmen had stormed the Okene secretariat on the fateful day and opened fire, killing the two soldiers in the process, just 24 hours after terrorists invaded Deeper Life Bible Church in the town, killing about 20 worshippers.
The incumbent boss of Okene Local Government, Hon Salihu Ogembe, was believed to be the target of the attack on the Okene Secretariat. Hon Ogembe escaped death by a whisker.
You may wish to know that the suspects - Karaku and Adagu - were appointed by Governor Idris Wada as Special Advisers without portfolio on July 26
